Paul Nopendi vs Senon Obregon

Boxing Daily Report from the TFI promoted show at Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center Ballroom, Syracuse,  taking place on 29/05/2026:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Paul Nopendi (16(10) - 0) who hails from Bekasi, Indonesia and Senon Obregon(7 - 11(2) - 4) from San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Both Nopendi and Obregon weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Bart Budge, and the three ringside judges are Billy Byrnes, Mike Robb and Ben Hopkins.  

Round 1: 

Nopendi steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND DROPS OBREGON TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 8.  Obregon quickly recovers. 
Obregon is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Nopendi lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Nopendi gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Obregon is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Nopendi lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Obregon almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Nopendi steps inside and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Obregon switches the action to the outside.  Nopendi lands a cross to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Nopendi steps inside and is on target with a left uppercut.  Nopendi clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Nopendi pushes his forearm into Obregon's face.  The referee warns Nopendi and breaks the clinch.  
Nopendi lands a jab, left hook and a cross to his opponents head.  
Nopendi advances into close range and forces Obregon to back into a corner.  Nopendi lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Nopendi is on target with a sharp left hook.  
Nopendi drives a right hook into Obregon's ribcage.  Nopendi holds on to his opponent.  Nopendi tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Obregon's kidney. Nopendi leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Nopendi's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Nopendi lands a solid right hook.  
Nopendi lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Nopendi drives a firm right hook into Obregon's ribcage.  
Nopendi sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the head, a right hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Nopendi lands a right hook to the head, a left uppercut to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  
Nopendi lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Nopendi lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Nopendi holds on to his opponent.  Nopendi leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  Obregon recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Nopendi is looking to close the distance and hits home with a firm right hook.  
Obregon is looking to keep his distance.  Nopendi lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Obregon lands a left uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Obregon steps away from his opponent.  Nopendi feints a jab, and then is on target with a cross.  
Obregon throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Nopendi gets on the inside and manouvers Obregon onto the ropes.  Nopendi lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Nopendi lands a right uppercut to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Obregon quickly recovers. 
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Obregon's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Obregon's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Obregon's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Nopendi gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Obregon almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Nopendi attempts to land a right hook, but Obregon sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Nopendi digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  Nopendi ties up his opponent.  Nopendi leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Nopendi walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Nopendi lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  Nopendi throws a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Nopendi digs in a solid right hook to Obregon's ribs.  Nopendi ties up his opponent.  Nopendi leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Nopendi lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.
