Rob Gwenn vs Alastair Sheriff

Boxing Daily Report from the Spinger Boxing Club promoted show at Houston Carnegie, Houston,  taking place on 03/06/2026:

Clearly Spinger Boxing Club have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-SouthWest Light Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Rob Gwenn (4 - 9 - 5) who hails from Arlington, USA and Alastair Sheriff(5 - 8 - 2) from Oklahoma City, USA.  Gwenn weighed in at 107 pounds And 13 ounces, while Sheriff weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Stuart Ferrera, and the three ringside judges are Johnny Cornejo, Faisal Rasul and Mike Ruane.  

Round 1: 

Gwenn steps to the outside.  Sheriff quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Gwenn lands a cross.  
Sheriff drives a left uppercut into Gwenn's body.  
Gwenn hits home with an overhand right.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Gwenn's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Sheriff's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.

Sheriff closes the distance.  Gwenn sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Sheriff hits home with a right hook.  
Sheriff is on target with a jab.  
Gwenn tries to keep the action at long range and lands an overhand right.  
Gwenn waits at the mid-range with a lowered guard, waiting for his opponent to throw a punch.  Sheriff attempts to land a jab, but Gwenn sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Gwenn feints a jab, tricking Sheriff into throwing a right hook counter.  Gwenn avoids the shot and counters with a cross.  
The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Gwenn dabs at his face checking for damage.
