Anthony McGovern vs Mardian Kweuke

Boxing Daily Report from the All Talk Promotions promoted show at City West Hotel, Dublin,  taking place on 13/06/2026:

Clearly All Talk Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Anthony McGovern (12(1) - 0) who hails from Cork, Ireland and Mardian Kweuke(1 - 2 - 1) from Yaoundé, Cameroon.  McGovern weighed in at 117 pounds and 15 ounces, while Kweuke weighed in at 117 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Dean Napier, and the three ringside judges are Steven Stewart, Liam Healey and Joshua Higgins.  

Round 1: 

Kweuke switches the action to the outside.  McGovern sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
McGovern drives a left hook into his opponents liver.  
McGovern is looking to close the distance and throws a left uppercut, but misses the target.  McGovern clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, McGovern pushes his forearm into Kweuke's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures McGovern about fouling.  
McGovern is looking to close the distance.  McGovern sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head.  
McGovern is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  McGovern holds on to his opponent.  McGovern uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Kweuke's kidney. The referee separates the two fighters and warns McGovern.
