Saad Zafar vs Anupam Mathen

Boxing Daily Report from the Kalenga Promotions promoted show at Balikpapan Rahmat, Balikpapan,  taking place on 30/06/2026:

Clearly Kalenga Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Saad Zafar (11 - 0) who hails from Kediri, Indonesia and Anupam Mathen(10 - 10 - 4) from Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.  Both Zafar and Mathen weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Tohjaya Siswomiharjo, and the three ringside judges are Paul Soetrisno, Baab-ullah Soenario and Panut Yeo.  

Round 1: 

Zafar gets on the inside and digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Zafar lands a left hook.  Zafar ties up his opponent.  Zafar pushes his forearm into Mathen's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Zafar closes the distance and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Zafar ties up his opponent.  Zafar is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Zafar lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  Zafar clinches his opponent.  Mathen leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Zafar pushes his forearm into Mathen's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Zafar to stop fouling.  
Zafar lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.

Zafar is on target with a left hook to Mathen's ribs.  
Mathen drives a left hook into Zafar's body.

Zafar quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  He then lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.
