Verneri Tuomola vs Pellervo Kuusela

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Finland-Uusimaa promoted show at Helsinki Piipi, Helsinki,  taking place on 19/05/2026:

Clearly AI Finland-Uusimaa have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Finland Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Nelonen, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Verneri Tuomola (15(1) - 1 - 1) who hails from Helsinki, Finland and Pellervo Kuusela(10 - 8 - 2) from Turku, Finland.  Tuomola weighed in at 240 pounds and 14 ounces, while Kuusela weighed in at 247 pounds and 5 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Reima Peura, and the three ringside judges are Rami Kivimaki, Jorma Puikkonen and Hannes Nieminen.
