Joe Wan vs Ricky Heffernan

Boxing Daily Report from the Big Bang Promotions promoted show at Coronet Theatre, London,  taking place on 30/05/2026:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Joe Wan (2(1) - 1) who hails from Leeds, UK and Ricky Heffernan(0 - 0) from London, UK.  Wan weighed in at 175 pounds, while Heffernan weighed in at 174 pounds and 3 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Charles Thomson, and the three ringside judges are Edwyn Reece, Dominic Boag and Alec Malraux.  

Round 1: 

Heffernan digs in a right hook to Wan's ribs.  
Wan lands a firm cross.

Heffernan pivots to the right of his opponent.  Heffernan throws a right hook, but Wan ties up his opponent.  Wan leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Heffernan feints a left hook, and then throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action and gives Wan time to recover.  
Wan lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Wan gets on the inside and lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head.  
Heffernan is looking to keep his distance.  Wan connects with a cross.  
Wan closes the distance.  Wan sidesteps to the left of his opponent and whips in a hurtful left hook to his opponents liver.  HEFFERNAN WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Heffernan now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Heffernan throws a right hook, but Wan ties up his opponent.  Wan hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. 
Heffernan throws a left hook, but Wan ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Wan pushes his forearm into Heffernan's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Wan is on target with a left hook.  
Wan manouvers his opponent into the corner.  Wan lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Heffernan's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Wan EXPLODES a FEARSOME left hook into his opponents face.  HEFFERNAN IS HURT!  Heffernan recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Wan hits home with a sharp left hook.  
Wan lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Wan lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Wan digs in a sharp left uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Wan connects with a right hook.  
Heffernan attempts to land a right hook, but Wan blocks the shot and counters with a firm right hook.

Wan steps inside and slams a nasty left hook into his opponents liver.  HEFFERNAN HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 7.

Wan closes the distance and lands a left uppercut to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right hook to the body.  
Wan is on target with a left uppercut to Heffernan's liver.  Wan holds on to his opponent.  Wan is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Wan lands a right hook to the head, a right uppercut to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Wan lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Wan holds on to his opponent.  Wan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Wan's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  Heffernan almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Wan SLAMS a MASSIVE left hook into his opponents face.  HEFFERNAN IS DOWN!  HE IS UNABLE TO GET UP BEFORE THE COUNT REACHES 10!  The winner by KO is Wan!
