Paul Boyle vs Matthew McGovern

Boxing Daily Report from the Kalungi Promotions promoted show at Colin McQueen Gym, Dublin,  taking place on 22/05/2026:

Clearly Kalungi Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Irish-Leinster Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Paul Boyle (8 - 7 - 2) who hails from Dundalk, Ireland and Matthew McGovern(7 - 6 - 2) from Dublin, Ireland.  Both Boyle and McGovern weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Rory Carver, and the three ringside judges are Mark McClellan, Carl Lyons and Clinton MacAdam.  

Round 1: 

Boyle sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with an overhand right.
