Zack Ploch vs Rico Galindo

Boxing Daily Report from the Smoking Joe promoted show at Walter Pyramid, Long Beach,  taking place on 07/07/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Zack Ploch (7(1) - 0) who hails from New Orleans, USA and Rico Galindo(16 - 9(2) - 4) from Caracas, Venezuela.  Both Ploch and Galindo weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Arthur Moultrie, and the three ringside judges are Noah Denoon, William Shawn and Cris Villagomez.  

Round 1: 

Galindo is looking to keep his distance and hits home with an overhand right.  
Ploch closes the distance and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Ploch clinches his opponent.  Ploch pushes his forearm into Galindo's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.

Ploch wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Galindo has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.

Ploch closes the distance and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Ploch attempts to land a cross, but Galindo sidesteps and counters with a left hook.
