Phil Blier vs Shaun Allan

Boxing Daily Report from the Baddog promoted show at Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium, Hamilton,  taking place on 07/07/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Canada-Ontario Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Phil Blier (9(5) - 1) who hails from Brampton, Canada and Shaun Allan(10 - 12(4) - 2) from Toronto, Canada.  Both Blier and Allan weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Denton Cadden, and the three ringside judges are Dave Sleigh, Dave Mollison and Mark Sneden.  

Round 1: 

Blier feints a right hook, and then is on target with a left hook to Allan's body.  
Blier switches the action to the outside and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Allan gets on the inside.  Blier is on target with a sharp left uppercut.  
Blier pivots to the left of his opponent and hits home with a hard jab.  
Blier steps away from his opponent and connects with a solid cross.  
Blier lands two straights followed by an overhand left to his opponents head.  
Allan is looking to close the distance.  Blier lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Blier is looking to keep his distance and lands a stinging jab.  
Blier pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Blier tries to keep the action at long range and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Blier lands two consecutive overhand rights to his opponents head.

Allan manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Blier lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Blier steps away from his opponent and lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Blier is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands with a stinging jab.  
Blier lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Allan steps inside and walks his opponent into a neutral corner.  Blier throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the punch.  Blier holds on to his opponent.  Blier leans on his opponent using all his weight. Blier pushes his forearm into Allan's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Blier lands a left hook.  
Allan steps inside.  Blier lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Allan quickly recovers. 
Blier steps away from his opponent and lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Allan closes the distance.  Blier lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  Blier ties up his opponent.  Blier leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Allan is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Blier lands an overhand right, overhand left and a jab to his opponents head.  
Blier lands a jab.  
Blier lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Blier pivots to the right of his opponent.  Allan throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Blier lands two overhand lefts followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Allan walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Blier lands a weighty cross to his opponents body.  IT LOOKS LIKE ALLAN WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Allan recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Blier's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Allan's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Blier lands two straights to the head followed by a jab to the body.  
Blier feints a left hook, and then lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Blier is looking to keep his distance and lands a jab, overhand right and a cross to his opponents head.  
Allan cuts off the ring, trapping Blier on the ropes.  Blier connects with a cross.  
Allan gets on the inside.  Blier lands a right uppercut to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a right hook to the body.

Allan gets on the inside.  Blier quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Allan attempts to land a right hook, but Blier sidesteps and counters with a firm left hook.  
Allan walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Blier drives a left hook into Allan's body.  
Blier is on target with a sharp cross.  
You can sense Allan is getting frustrated in there.   He steps inside, but then strikes Blier with a blatant low blow!  The ref tells Allan to keep his punches above the belt.  He gives Blier time to recover.  
Allan walks Blier down, trapping him in a neutral corner.  Allan is on target with a jab.  
Blier lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Blier is on target with a sharp left uppercut.  
Blier lands two jabs followed by an overhand right to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
Allan could be stopped here, if Blier can find the right shot!  Blier lands a weighty right uppercut.  ALLAN IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  It looks like Allan has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
Allan advances into close range.  Blier drives a solid right hook into his opponents body.

Blier lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head, AND DOWN GOES ALLAN!  He makes it to one knee, but is unable to rise any further as the ref counts 10!  The winner by KO is Blier!
