Louis Doyle vs Stephen Watson

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at University of the Sunshine Coast, Sunshine Coast,  taking place on 13/06/2026:

Clearly Gold Coast Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Louis Doyle (3 - 0) who hails from West Valley City, USA and Stephen Watson(6 - 5 - 2) from Sydney, Australia.  Doyle weighed in at 154 pounds, while Watson weighed in at 153 pounds and 12 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Ian Rabb, and the three ringside judges are Mel Culp, Oliver Mullane and Billy Pryce.  

Round 1: 

Watson connects with a cross.  
Doyle lands a jab.  
Doyle closes the distance and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Doyle leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Watson accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Doyle.

Round 2: 

Doyle lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Watson almost instantly recovers. 
Doyle is on target with a right hook.  As Watson tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Doyle has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Watson is looking to keep his distance.  Doyle lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Doyle gets on the inside.  Watson sidesteps to the right of his opponent andThe two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Doyle dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Doyle advances into close range and digs in a sharp right hook to Watson's body.  Doyle holds on to his opponent.  Watson is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Doyle is on target with a spiteful jab.  
Watson digs in a left hook to Doyle's body.  
Watson pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook.

Doyle lands a left uppercut to the body, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  Doyle ties up his opponent.  Doyle leans on his opponent using all his weight. As they grapple, Doyle pushes his forearm into Watson's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Watson attempts to land a cross, but Doyle parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Doyle gets on the inside and drives a firm right hook into Watson's ribcage.  
Watson sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Doyle lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Doyle has taken some damage from that accidental headbutt.  That has caused minor damage to the nose.  
Doyle digs in a solid left hook to Watson's body.  
Doyle drives a firm right hook into Watson's body.
