Gianmarco Abate vs Enzo Turco

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Italy-Lazio promoted show at Angelo Santella Gym, Rome,  taking place on 03/07/2026:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Italy-Lazio Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Eurosport Italia, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Gianmarco Abate (14(2) - 4(1)) who hails from Rome, Italy and Enzo Turco(13 - 7(1) - 2) from Rome, Italy.  Both Abate and Turco weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Adolfo Crocetta, and the three ringside judges are Massimo Scalia, Mariano Buccico and Bernardo Giunti.  

Round 1: 

Abate lands a jab followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head.  
Abate closes the distance and attempts to land a right hook, but Turco dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut.

That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  The ref halts the action and sends Abate to the neutral corner.    He tells Turco to clean up his game.  The ref's patience seems to be wearing thin.
