Gig Grimaldo vs Alejandro Mellado

Boxing Daily Report from the Vilakazi Promotions promoted show at Cruz Mellado Gym, San Bernardo,  taking place on 16/07/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Chile-Santiago Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Gig Grimaldo (4 - 3 - 1) who hails from La Florida, Chile and Alejandro Mellado(8 - 5 - 3) from Puente Alto, Chile.  Grimaldo weighed in at 139 pounds and 14 ounces, while Mellado weighed in at 139 pounds and 8 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Santiago Banuelos, and the three ringside judges are Antonio Vasquez, Ora Silvera and Luis Arquilla.
