Kashif Azizi vs Chris Wylie

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-California promoted show at San Jose Carmicheal, San Jose,  taking place on 13/07/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Kashif Azizi (14 - 0) who hails from Calabar, Nigeria and Chris Wylie(8 - 1 - 7) from San Diego, USA.  Azizi weighed in at 139 pounds and 15 ounces, while Wylie weighed in at 139 pounds and 6 ounces.  
The referee tonight is David Ness, and the three ringside judges are Obaid Abdelnour, Billy Fergusson and Zachary Salmond.  

Round 1: 

Azizi connects with a cross.

Azizi advances into close range.  Wylie throws a left hook, but Azizi clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Azizi pushes his forearm into Wylie's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Azizi to stop fouling.  
Wylie tries to land a cross, but Azizi sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Azizi closes the distance.  Azizi sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a left hook.  Wylie wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Azizi dabs at his face checking for damage.
