Josh Taher vs Alec Ngongo

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Kenya-Mombasa promoted show at Razi Masinde Gym, Mombasa,  taking place on 21/07/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Kenya-Mombasa Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Josh Taher (4 - 2 - 2) who hails from Mombasa, Kenya and Alec Ngongo(12 - 6 - 3) from Mombasa, Kenya.  Both Taher and Ngongo weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is George Waciuma, and the three ringside judges are Hassan Badini, Michael Bwakali and Lewis Muriuki.  

Round 1: 

Ngongo connects with a cross.

Taher throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Ngongo's complaints and signals for the action to continue.
