Juan Cruz vs Orlando Bustillos

Boxing Daily Report from the Chilembe Promotions promoted show at Onofre Ortiz Gym, Havana,  taking place on 25/07/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Cuba-Havana Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Juan Cruz (10 - 4 - 4) who hails from Havana, Cuba and Orlando Bustillos(8 - 9 - 3) from Havana, Cuba.  Both Cruz and Bustillos weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Montel Albarran, and the three ringside judges are Lisandro Abela, Cipriano Gomez and Diego Villas.  

Round 1: 

Cruz is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands two consecutive overhand rights to his opponents head.  
Bustillos attempts to land a cross, but Cruz dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Cruz switches the action to the outside.  Cruz quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a cross.  
Bustillos lowers his guard, attempting to draw a lead.  Cruz tries to land a jab, but Bustillos blocks the shot and counters with a cross.

Cruz goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Bustillos to the neutral corner.  He has a stern word with Cruz and threatens a point deduction if continues to foul.

Bustillos lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.
