Chris Wilson vs Rich Cerdan

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Canada-British Columbia promoted show at Surrey Erving, Surrey,  taking place on 07/08/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Canada-British Columbia Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Chris Wilson (10(2) - 1 - 1) who hails from Surrey, Canada and Rich Cerdan(11 - 11 - 2) from Vancouver, Canada.  Wilson weighed in at 139 pounds and 14 ounces, while Cerdan weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Paul Trott, and the three ringside judges are Noah Tedford, Connor Blakely and Connor Blakely.  

Round 1: 

Wilson pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a right hook to the head.  
Wilson lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Wilson is on target with a firm right hook.  Wilson holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Wilson pushes his forearm into Cerdan's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Wilson.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Cerdan's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Cerdan's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Cerdan's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.
