Ovidio Ochoa vs Joaquin Amores

Boxing Daily Report from the Ngcobo Promotions promoted show at Havana Najarro, Havana,  taking place on 14/08/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Cuba-Havana Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ovidio Ochoa (12 - 4 - 5) who hails from Havana, Cuba and Joaquin Amores(10 - 6 - 2) from Havana, Cuba.  Ochoa weighed in at 111 pounds and 8 ounces, while Amores weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Luis Sanchez, and the three ringside judges are Agapetus Triana, Ora Calvin and Alfonso Fiel.  

Round 1: 

Ochoa switches the action to the outside and connects with an overhand right.  
Amores voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Ochoa steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.
