Venacio Vargas vs Jerrold Burgo

Boxing Daily Report from the Ngcobo Promotions promoted show at Havana Matas, Havana,  taking place on 16/08/2026:

Clearly Ngcobo Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Cuba-Havana Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Venacio Vargas (12 - 5 - 4) who hails from Havana, Cuba and Jerrold Burgo(12 - 10) from Havana, Cuba.  Both Vargas and Burgo weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Juan Serbin, and the three ringside judges are Luis Cruz, Diego Villas and Neper Quinonez.  

Round 1: 

Vargas steps away from his opponent and tries to land an overhand right, but Burgo sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.
