Samir Gasymov vs Roman Rashid

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Azerbaijan-Ganja promoted show at Shamkir Shahverdiev, Shamkir,  taking place on 17/08/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Azerbaijan-Ganja Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Samir Gasymov (9 - 4) who hails from Shamkir, Azerbaijan and Roman Rashid(9(1) - 1) from Shamkir, Azerbaijan.  Both Gasymov and Rashid weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Fazail Sala, and the three ringside judges are Nurlan Jabbarov, Garay Akhadov and Samir Rahman.  

Round 1: 

Gasymov quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Rashid lands an overhand right.
