Rico Mijares vs Santiago Ambriz

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Ecuador-Guayas promoted show at Angel Frias Gym, Guayaquil,  taking place on 18/08/2026:

Clearly AI Ecuador-Guayas have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Ecuador-Guayas Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Rico Mijares (4 - 9) who hails from Duran, Ecuador and Santiago Ambriz(7 - 2 - 2) from Guayaquil, Ecuador.  Mijares weighed in at 239 pounds and 3 ounces, while Ambriz weighed in at 257 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Pedro Siman, and the three ringside judges are Quico Gaytan, Vicente Tamez and Angel Chavana.
