Mariano Abate vs Gianfranco Toma

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Italy-Emilia-Romagna promoted show at Bologna Fumagalli, Bologna,  taking place on 22/07/2026:

Clearly AI Italy-Emilia-Romagna have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Italy-Emilia-Romagna Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Mariano Abate (9 - 1) who hails from Modena, Italy and Gianfranco Toma(13 - 10 - 1) from Reggio Emilia, Italy.  Abate weighed in at 130 pounds, while Toma weighed in at 129 pounds and 4 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Dino Falcone, and the three ringside judges are Pepe Scappini, Tito Valdifiori and Adriano La Forgia.
