Alfonso Morro vs Venacio Felipe

Boxing Daily Report from the Cestrian promotions promoted show at Pavelló Girona-Fontajau, Barcelona,  taking place on 28/09/2026:

Clearly Cestrian promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Spain Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Marca TV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Alfonso Morro (10(4) - 1(1) - 1) who hails from Barcelona, Spain and Venacio Felipe(6 - 7 - 4) from Malaga, Spain.  Both Morro and Felipe weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Carlos Oseguera, and the three ringside judges are Seferino Cosme, Leonel Nicodemus and Elias Moreton.  

Round 1: 

Morro drives a right hook into Felipe's body.  
Felipe closes the distance and manouvers his opponent into the corner.  Morro lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Morro lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Morro clinches his opponent.  Morro is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Morro and breaks the clinch.  
Morro lands a left hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the head.  Morro holds on to his opponent.  Morro leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Morro walks Felipe down, trapping him on the ropes.  Morro lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Morro is looking to force the stoppage!  Morro lands a left hook to the body followed by a cross to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head, AND DROPS FELIPE TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 5.  
Morro drives a right hook into Felipe's body.  Felipe now seems to have got his legs back.  
Morro sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Felipe throws a right hook, but Morro clinches his opponent.  Morro leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Morro hits home with a stinging left hook.  
Morro lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Morro forces Felipe to back into the red corner.  Morro lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body.  Morro clinches his opponent.  Morro leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Felipe gets on the inside.  Morro lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Morro lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Morro digs in a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Morro lands a left hook.  Morro holds on to his opponent.  Morro is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Morro closes the distance and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  Morro holds on to his opponent.  Morro leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Morro advances into close range and digs in a firm right hook to Felipe's body.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Felipe's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Felipe's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Felipe's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
