Boxing Daily Report from the Chileshe Promotions promoted show at Benin City Azikwe, Benin City,  taking place on 24/08/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Western African Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on AIT Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are John Girei (11(1) - 4 - 1) who hails from Benin City, Nigeria and Tyson Romand(15(2) - 2 - 1) from Abidjan, Ivory Coast.  Girei weighed in at 122 pounds, while Romand weighed in at 121 pounds And 8 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Ifeanyi Ezuruonye, and the three ringside judges are Akeem Kabokeme, Alen Beete and Kunle Tella.
