John Strom vs Corey Cavanah

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Illinois promoted show at Kieran Smolak Gym, Joliet,  taking place on 02/08/2026:

Clearly AI USA-Illinois have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Illinois Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are John Strom (13 - 7(1) - 4) who hails from Chicago, USA and Corey Cavanah(6 - 5 - 1) from Chicago, USA.  Both Strom and Cavanah weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Jack Fiddes, and the three ringside judges are Ewan Humphries, Cody Cockburn and Nathan Espy.  

Round 1: 

Cavanah tries to keep the action at long range and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.
