Olindo Rubi vs Dale Jerden

Boxing Daily Report from the Pearlnew Promotions promoted show at Coliseo Pedrin Zorrilla, San Juan,  taking place on 07/09/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Olindo Rubi (8 - 2 - 1) who hails from Ponce, Puerto Rico and Dale Jerden(13 - 9 - 1) from Hamilton, Canada.  Rubi weighed in at 112 pounds, while Jerden weighed in at 111 pounds and 10 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Xaverius Fallas, and the three ringside judges are Neper Hidalgo, Joaquin Salaz and Xaverius Fallas.  

Round 1: 

Jerden pivots to the side of his opponent.  Jerden attempts to land a right hook, but Rubi parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut to Jerden's ribs.  
Jerden connects with a cross.  Jerden throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Rubi advances into close range and connects with a solid right hook.  
Rubi steps inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.

Rubi closes the distance.  As Rubi tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Jerden has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused bad damage to the nose.  The ref has ruled that the fight cannot continue due to the accidental damage.  We are going to the scorecards.
