Fumio Tanaka vs Nao Okubo

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Yoyogi National Gymnasium, Tokyo,  taking place on 19/09/2026:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the Japan Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TV Tokyo, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Fumio Tanaka (15(1) - 1 - 1) who hails from Tokyo, Japan and Nao Okubo(12 - 5(1) - 1(NC)) from Sakai, Japan.  Both Tanaka and Okubo weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hisao Hatanaka, and the three ringside judges are Isamu Kuno, Kyo Arima and Goro Oyama.
