Davie Busto vs Sam Newburn

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Miami Beach Convention Center, Miami,  taking place on 29/08/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Davie Busto (5 - 0) who hails from Ontario, USA and Sam Newburn(6 - 6(1) - 1) from Miami, USA.  Both Busto and Newburn weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Sean Carmona, and the three ringside judges are Joshua Vara, Cole Ghant and Lloyd Purse.  

Round 1: 

Newburn finds the target with a jab.  
Newburn tries to step out of his opponents range.  Busto lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.

Busto forces Newburn to back into the corner.  Busto throws a left hook, but the shot is blocked.  Busto clinches his opponent.  Busto leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Busto throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the punch.  Busto clinches his opponent.  Busto leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Newburn is looking to keep the action on the outside and throws an overhand right, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm right hook.  
Busto steps inside and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  Busto clinches his opponent.  Busto leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Busto lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Busto steps inside.  Busto quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Busto throws a right uppercut, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Busto ties up his opponent. Newburn is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Busto is on target with a solid cross.  
Busto steps inside and is on target with a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Busto lands a cross, right hook and a left hook to his opponents head.  
Busto is looking to close the distance.  Busto connects with a right hook.  Newburn wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Busto.  That has caused slight damage to the nose.
