Sam Axtell vs Cole Smith

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Sunshine Coast Stadium, Sunshine Coast,  taking place on 17/10/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Oceania Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SBS1, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Sam Axtell (19 - 1 - 1) who hails from Melbourne, Australia and Cole Smith(16 - 4(1)) from Waitakere, New Zealand.  Both Axtell and Smith weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Corey Pait, and the three ringside judges are Inigo Craigen, Fraser McNabb and Seth Urbano.
