Mitsuru Amano vs Aoi Sugita

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Yoyogi National Gymnasium, Tokyo,  taking place on 17/10/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the Asia-Oceania Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TV Tokyo, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Mitsuru Amano (20(4) - 1(1)) who hails from Sakai, Japan and Aoi Sugita(15 - 8(4) - 1) from Nagoya, Japan.  Both Amano and Sugita weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Kaede Toyama, and the three ringside judges are Isamu Shibuya, Aki Fujii and Akira Kishimoto.  

Round 1:
