Sun Cheong vs Chung Liew

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Beijing Gymnasium, Beijing,  taking place on 03/10/2026:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the China Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Sun Cheong (8 - 13(3) - 1) who hails from Quanzhou, China and Chung Liew(14 - 4) from Beijing, China.  Cheong weighed in at 168 pounds, while Liew weighed in at 167 pounds and 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Xin Wan, and the three ringside judges are Jun Qi, Yuan Hsu and Wu-pen Zeng.  

Round 1: 

Liew closes the distance.  Cheong throws a left hook, but Liew holds on to his opponent.  Liew pushes his forearm into Cheong's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Liew to stop fouling.
