John Salawu vs George Atsu

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Ghana-Greater Accra promoted show at Accra Aziz, Accra,  taking place on 20/08/2026:

Clearly AI Ghana-Greater Accra have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Ghana-Greater Accra Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are John Salawu (4 - 11 - 5) who hails from Accra, Ghana and George Atsu(6 - 5 - 2) from Accra, Ghana.  Both Salawu and Atsu weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Roshaun Adu, and the three ringside judges are Chris Dokuaa, Shevon Adusei and Neil Sribor.  

Round 1: 

Atsu closes the distance.  Atsu sidesteps to the right of his opponent and digs in a left hook to his opponents body.
