Kyo Shoda vs Isamu Sugawara

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, Tokyo,  taking place on 10/10/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the Japan-Tokyo Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Kyo Shoda (8 - 9 - 1) who hails from Tokyo, Japan and Isamu Sugawara(6 - 3 - 2) from Machida, Japan.  Both Shoda and Sugawara weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Michi Uyehara, and the three ringside judges are Jiro Fukumoto, Yuichi Abe and Aki Fujii.  

Round 1: 

Sugawara lands a jab.  
Sugawara finds the target with a jab.  
Sugawara switches the action to the outside and tries to land a cross, but Shoda blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Sugawara walks Shoda down, trapping him in a corner.  Sugawara sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Shoda is on target with a left hook.
