Jun Shimomura vs Michi Machi

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, Tokyo,  taking place on 10/10/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Japan-Tokyo Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Jun Shimomura (19 - 5 - 2) who hails from Tokyo, Japan and Michi Machi(12 - 12 - 2) from Tokyo, Japan.  Shimomura weighed in at 242 pounds and 15 ounces, while Machi weighed in at 229 pounds and 4 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Yuichi Abe, and the three ringside judges are Jiro Fukumoto, Michi Uyehara and Aki Fujii.
