Josh Kiunjuri vs Jasper Mariga

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Kenya-Machakos promoted show at Michael Semenya Gym, Kangundo-Tala,  taking place on 24/08/2026:

Clearly AI Kenya-Machakos have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Kenya-Machakos Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Josh Kiunjuri (5 - 3 - 4) who hails from Athi River, Kenya and Jasper Mariga(10 - 1) from Kangundo-Tala, Kenya.  Both Kiunjuri and Mariga weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Sam Adoyo, and the three ringside judges are Ian Elmi, Sam Mwiria and Jamar Kosgei.  

Round 1: 

Mariga lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.
