Chris Bothwell vs John Malcomson

Boxing Daily Report from the Slick Rick Promotions promoted show at Auckland Dodd, Auckland,  taking place on 23/09/2026:

Clearly Slick Rick Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the New Zealand-Auckland Light Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Chris Bothwell (7 - 6(2)) who hails from Manukau, New Zealand and John Malcomson(6(1) - 0) from Auckland, New Zealand.  Both Bothwell and Malcomson weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Kieran Beynon, and the three ringside judges are Lloyd Rease, James Oakley and Justin Patariki.  

Round 1: 

Malcomson gets on the inside and lands a stinging right hook.  
Malcomson manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Malcomson pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents body.  
Malcomson lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Malcomson is on target with a left uppercut to Bothwell's liver.
