Waqar Kamel vs Hugh Akanji

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Nigeria-Lagos State promoted show at Haaris Ammar Gym, Lagos,  taking place on 27/08/2026:

Clearly AI Nigeria-Lagos State have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Nigeria-Lagos State Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Waqar Kamel (5 - 14 - 2) who hails from Lagos, Nigeria and Hugh Akanji(13 - 7 - 3) from Lagos, Nigeria.  Kamel weighed in at 125 pounds And 14 ounces, while Akanji weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Sean Ebor, and the three ringside judges are Yakubu Aga, Asif Shakir and Umair Khalid.
