Ian Paewai vs Richie Strother

Boxing Daily Report from the AI New Zealand-Canterbury promoted show at Stephen Patu Gym, Christchurch,  taking place on 26/09/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the New Zealand-Canterbury Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ian Paewai (11 - 8 - 3) who hails from Christchurch, New Zealand and Richie Strother(7 - 4 - 3) from Christchurch, New Zealand.  Both Paewai and Strother weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is David Neild, and the three ringside judges are Robert Lawman, Corey Stobie and Ruki Kohu.
