Darryl McNeff vs John Leamon

Boxing Daily Report from the Zulu Promotions promoted show at John Rees Gym, Chesapeake,  taking place on 02/09/2026:

Clearly Zulu Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Virginia Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Darryl McNeff (3 - 5 - 3) who hails from Virginia Beach, USA and John Leamon(4 - 2 - 1) from Norfolk, USA.  McNeff weighed in at 229 pounds, while Leamon weighed in at 225 pounds And 5 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Waleed Mady, and the three ringside judges are Hugh McGuinness, Jasper MacFarland and Sam Cowper.  

Round 1: 

Leamon steps inside and connects with a left hook.  
Leamon gets on the inside.  Leamon pivots to the left of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  
McNeff tries to step out of his opponents range.  Leamon drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  McNeff is on target with a jab to his opponents body.  
McNeff steps away from his opponent.  Leamon is on target with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McNeff's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  McNeff's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  McNeff's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
