Hisao Yanagi vs Hitoshi Nitta

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, Tokyo,  taking place on 10/10/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan-Tokyo Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Hisao Yanagi (5 - 0) who hails from Tokyo, Japan and Hitoshi Nitta(7 - 3(1) - 5) from Tokyo, Japan.  Yanagi weighed in at 154 pounds, while Nitta weighed in at 153 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Michi Uyehara, and the three ringside judges are Jiro Fukumoto, Yuichi Abe and Aki Fujii.  

Round 1: 

Nitta voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Yanagi steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.
