Alastair Mattox vs John Balfour

Boxing Daily Report from the Sijabala Promotions promoted show at Birmingham Mescall, Birmingham,  taking place on 12/10/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the USA-Deep South Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Alastair Mattox (12(1) - 3 - 1) who hails from Hoover, USA and John Balfour(13(1) - 3 - 1) from Nashville, USA.  Both Mattox and Balfour weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Paul Bason, and the three ringside judges are Corey Grassie, Chris Napier and Max Gura.  

Round 1: 

Mattox gets on the inside.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Mattox dabs at his face checking for damage.
