Waqar Awan vs Thompson Nurudeen

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Nigeria-Lagos State promoted show at Lagos Omolade, Lagos,  taking place on 04/10/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Nigeria Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on AIT Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Waqar Awan (15 - 7(1) - 2) who hails from Lagos, Nigeria and Thompson Nurudeen(12 - 8(1) - 2) from Abuja, Nigeria.  Awan weighed in at 147 pounds, while Nurudeen weighed in at 146 pounds and 13 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Danyaal Habibi, and the three ringside judges are Ogenyi Adelakun, Leeroy Falola and Obafemi Disu.
