Leighton Platt vs Michael Redpath

Boxing Daily Report from the GAT Management promoted show at Maison de la culture, Gaineau,  taking place on 16/11/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fight Network, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Leighton Platt (9(2) - 0) who hails from Winnipeg, Canada and Michael Redpath(6 - 12(4) - 4) from Huntington Beach, USA.  Both Platt and Redpath weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Johnny Smith, and the three ringside judges are Bruce Hathorne, Laurent Marceau and Elliot Girardot.  

Round 1: 

Platt advances into close range and lands a right uppercut, left hook and a right hook to his opponents head.  
Platt lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Platt drives a solid left hook into Redpath's body.  
Redpath sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Platt connects with a cross.  
Platt closes the distance.  Redpath throws a right uppercut, but Platt clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Platt pushes his forearm into Redpath's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Platt about fouling.  
Platt quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Platt lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Platt clinches his opponent.  Platt pushes his forearm into Redpath's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Platt.  
Platt walks Redpath down, trapping him on the ropes.  Platt lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Platt drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Platt lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head.  
Platt lands a left hook.  Platt clinches his opponent.  Platt leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Platt lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  He then lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Platt throws a right uppercut, but the shot is blocked.  Platt ties up his opponent.  Platt leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Platt lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Platt forces Redpath to retreat onto the ropes.  Platt is on target with a cross.  
Platt gets on the inside and lands a right hook.  
Redpath hits home with a left uppercut.  
Platt advances into close range and lands a right uppercut to the head, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  Platt ties up his opponent.  Platt is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Platt's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Redpath closes the distance.  Platt lands two left hooks followed by a right hook to his opponents head.

Platt lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.

Platt lands a firm left uppercut.  
Platt steps inside and connects with a left hook.  
Platt hits home with a left hook.

You can sense Redpath is getting frustrated in there.   He steps in close and headbutts his opponent!  That has caused bad swelling  around the right eye.  The ref halts the action and sends Platt to the neutral corner.    He has a stern word with Redpath and warns that a point will be deducted if he continues to foul.  
Platt lands two right hooks followed by a left hook to his opponents head.

Platt closes the distance.  Platt lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Platt dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Platt quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a FIERCE cross.  REDPATH HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  HE MAKES IT TO ONE KNEE, BUT IS UNABLE TO RISE ANY FURTHER AS THE REF COUNTS 10!  The winner by KO is Platt!
