Jiang Koon vs Juan Paula

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Yoyogi National Gymnasium, Tokyo,  taking place on 14/11/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TV Tokyo, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Jiang Koon (16(9) - 1(1)) who hails from Guigang, China and Juan Paula(16 - 4(2)) from Caloocan, Philippines.  Both Koon and Paula weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Yuji Tsutsumi, and the three ringside judges are Kazuhiko Ide, Hideki Ishibashi and Aki Fujii.  

Round 1: 

Koon switches the action to the outside.  Paula throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a sharp left hook.  
Paula gets on the inside.  Koon digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  Koon attempts to land a left hook, but Paula parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Paula attempts to land a right hook, but Koon blocks the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.  
Koon is looking to keep the action on the outside and connects with a cross.  
Koon steps inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Koon throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.

Koon lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Koon drives a sharp left hook into Paula's liver.  Koon attempts to land a left uppercut, but Paula blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Paula's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Paula's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Koon sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a powerful cross into his opponents body.  PAULA IS HURT!  Paula almost instantly recovers. 
Koon lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Koon feints a cross, fooling Paula into launching a right hook counter.  Koon springs the trap, countering with  a solid left hook.  
Paula gets on the inside and forces Koon to back into the ropes.  Paula pivots to the side of his opponent and connects with a right uppercut.  
Paula pivots from in front of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.
