Fausto Giraldo vs Diego Peno

Boxing Daily Report from the Wapakhabulo Promotions promoted show at Djan Gym, Puebla,  taking place on 02/10/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Fausto Giraldo (2 - 0) who hails from Nezahualcoyotl, Mexico and Diego Peno(3 - 1) from Mexico City, Mexico.  Both Giraldo and Peno weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Senon Simeon, and the three ringside judges are Porfio Artiga, Diego Mar and Fanuco Barrera.  

Round 1: 

Giraldo lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Giraldo holds on to his opponent.  Giraldo leans on his opponent using all his weight. Giraldo is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Giraldo to stop fouling.

Peno throws a right hook, but Giraldo ties up his opponent.  Giraldo tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Peno behind the head. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Giraldo manouvers Peno onto the ropes.  Giraldo lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Giraldo dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Peno is keeping his hands low...it looks like he wants his opponent to throw first.  Giraldo is on target with a jab.  
Peno gets on the inside.  Giraldo lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.
