Juan Ceron vs Sammy Ormiston

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at University of the Sunshine Coast, Sunshine Coast,  taking place on 03/10/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Juan Ceron (2 - 0) who hails from Arequipa, Peru and Sammy Ormiston(10 - 7) from Brisbane, Australia.  Both Ceron and Ormiston weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Johnny Deasmhumhain, and the three ringside judges are Francesco Ghiglia, John Wark and Ian Norris.  

Round 1:

Ormiston closes the distance and throws a right uppercut, but Ceron ties up his opponent.  Ceron throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Ceron about fouling.

Ormiston gets on the inside.  Ceron voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Ormiston tries to tag Ceron on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!
