Takeo Nagao vs Yuichi Imai

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Yoyogi National Gymnasium, Tokyo,  taking place on 17/10/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TV Tokyo, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Takeo Nagao (12(1) - 8) who hails from Toyonaka, Japan and Yuichi Imai(6 - 3) from Fukuoka, Japan.  Both Nagao and Imai weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Aki Fujii, and the three ringside judges are Isamu Shibuya, Kaede Toyama and Akira Kishimoto.  

Round 1: 

Nagao advances into close range and is on target with a solid left hook to his opponents body.
