Gig Penalver vs Beltran Frontera

Boxing Daily Report from the Yalley Promotions promoted show at Guayaquil Real, Guayaquil,  taking place on 17/09/2026:

Clearly Yalley Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Ecuador-Guayas Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Gig Penalver (8 - 8 - 4) who hails from Guayaquil, Ecuador and Beltran Frontera(9 - 4 - 4) from Guayaquil, Ecuador.  Both Penalver and Frontera weighed in at 146 pounds And 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Felippe Noa, and the three ringside judges are Alano Camejo, Venacio Riquelme and Diego Ramirez.  

Round 1: 

Penalver advances into close range.  Penalver attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action and gives Frontera time to recover.  
Frontera forces Penalver to retreat into a corner.  Penalver drives a left uppercut into his opponents body.  
Frontera is on target with a cross.  
Frontera attempts to land a left hook, but Penalver blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Penalver's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Penalver's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
