Boxing Daily Report from the Hennessy Boxing promoted show at WICEC Function Hall, Wuhan,  taking place on 07/11/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the East Asian Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Starsports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Qing-Nan Cheong (17(4) - 1(1)) who hails from Xiangyang, China and Iwao Kuba(14(2) - 1(1) - 1) from Amagasaki, Japan.  Both Cheong and Kuba weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Lei Choo, and the three ringside judges are Yong Huie, Chen Kuk and Xing-fu Fan.  

Round 1: 

Kuba gets on the inside.  Cheong attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Kuba's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Cheong switches the action to the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.
