Balder Varn vs Oscar Helstrom

Boxing Daily Report from the Valhalla promotions promoted show at Stockholm Concert Centre, Stockholm,  taking place on 24/10/2026:

Clearly Valhalla promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the Sweden Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Balder Varn (11(5) - 1(1)) who hails from Stockholm, Sweden and Oscar Helstrom(8 - 9(1) - 2) from Stockholm, Sweden.  Both Varn and Helstrom weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Wilmer Grinberg, and the three ringside judges are Neo Sjoblom, Edward Marken and Tage Eld.  

Round 1: 

Varn steps inside and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Varn holds on to his opponent.  Varn is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Varn steps inside.  Varn sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Varn lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Varn throws a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook to Varn's body.  
Varn drives a right uppercut into his opponents body.  Varn ties up his opponent.  Varn pushes his forearm into Helstrom's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Varn feints a cross, and then drives a solid left hook into his opponents body.  
Helstrom steps away from his opponent.  Varn lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Varn lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Varn clinches his opponent.  Varn is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Varn sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a stinging left hook.  
Varn closes the distance and lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a right uppercut to the head.  
Varn advances into close range and lands a left hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a left hook to the body.  
Varn snaps his opponents head back with a sharp jab.  
Varn gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Varn is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Varn lands a left hook, left uppercut and a right hook to his opponents body.  
Varn gets on the inside and lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Helstrom tries to land a jab, but Varn sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Helstrom is looking to keep his distance.  Varn hits home with a stinging cross.  
Helstrom attempts to land a cross, but Varn parries the shot and counters with a solid right uppercut.  
Varn pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Varn hits home with a left hook.  
Varn gets on the inside.  Helstrom pivots from in front of his opponent.  Varn lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Varn cuts off the ring, trapping Helstrom in the corner.  Varn lands a firm left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Helstrom's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.

Varn lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Varn lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Varn lands a right hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the head.  
Varn pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a solid left uppercut.  
Varn hits home with a right hook.  Varn clinches his opponent.  Varn throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref breaks Varn's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Varn closes the distance and lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  Varn holds on to his opponent.  Varn leans on his opponent using all his weight. As they grapple, Varn pushes his forearm into Helstrom's face.  The referee warns Varn and breaks the clinch.  
Helstrom is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Varn lands a jab, overhand right and a cross to his opponents head.  
Varn closes the distance and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Varn ties up his opponent.  Varn tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Helstrom behind the head. 
Varn lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head, AND KNOCKS HELSTROM DOWN!  He remains on the canvas as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Varn!
