Billy Abbey vs Wiremu Minarapa

Boxing Daily Report from the Nkoloma Promotions promoted show at North Shore Swanson, North Shore,  taking place on 26/09/2026:

Clearly Nkoloma Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the New Zealand-Auckland Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Billy Abbey (4 - 9 - 3) who hails from Waitakere, New Zealand and Wiremu Minarapa(5 - 8 - 2) from Auckland, New Zealand.  Both Abbey and Minarapa weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Corey Hopper, and the three ringside judges are Clinton Martie, Robert Haturini and Richie Seay.  

Round 1: 

Abbey quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and connects with a left uppercut.  
Minarapa throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Abbey's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Abbey hits home with a right hook.  
Minarapa steps to the outside.  Abbey tries to land a cross, but Minarapa sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Abbey closes the distance and throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Abbey's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Minarapa's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.
